VIEWING PROBLEMS

Common Page Viewing Issues:

Page formatting problems (fonts look incorrect, things are misaligned on the page, images and items are missing, etc)

Non-functioning links and/or buttons

Common Page Viewing Solutions:

1. Refresh the page in your browser.

Your browser stores copies of pages in a local cache to improve browsing speed. Sometimes an outdated version of the page is stored in this cache and can cause many common viewing issues.

To fix this issue try the following:

On your keyboard, hold the Ctrl key down and press the F5 key once.

Clear your browser's local cache (warning this will clear all pages stored, including those from JITC). This procedure varies depending on your browser. Several common browsers allow you to use keyboard shortcuts to open a menu to clear the cache with various options.

Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox: (Ctrl + Shift + Del) Hold the Ctrl and Shift keys down and press the Delete (Del) key once to get the cache / temporary files menu.

2. Enable popups.

Some of our pages use popups to notify you that something is happening. If popups are disabled, you may encounter non-functioning links and/or buttons. The process for enabling popups varies between browsers. Several common browsers allow you to use keyboard shortcuts to open a menu to enable popups.

Internet Explorer: (Alt + t + p + p) Hold the Alt key down and press the "t" key once, then press the "p" key twice to get the popup blocker menu. Add "jitc.fhu.disa.mil" to the allowed sites list and close the menu.

Firefox: (Alt + t + o) Hold the Alt key down and press the "t" key once, then press the "o" key once to get the options menu. Click the Content tab. Click Exceptions. Add "jitc.fhu.disa.mil" to the allowed sites list and close the menu.

Chrome: (Ctrl + Shift + t) Hold the Ctrl and Shift keys down and press the "t" key once to get the settings menu. Scroll to the bottom and click "Show advanced settings". Under Privacy click "Content Settings...". Under Popups click "Manage Exceptions...". Add "jitc.fhu.disa.mil" to the allowed sites list and close the menu.

COMMON ERRORS

"Transfer Interrupted"

"The website/page cannot be found", 404

"The server does not have a DNS entry"

Common Error Solutions:

These errors are typically caused by the website name being misspelled, or issues with the DNS (Domain Name System) not recognizing "jitc.fhu.disa.mil".

To fix these Issues:

1. Check the web address for the correct spelling.

2. Use the IP address of our website - Replace "jitc.fhu.disa.mil" in the address with 164.235.73.64.
