This task assists JITC Washington Operations Division (JWOD) working Combined and Joint Interoperability issues for the
Combatant Commanders and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This task also supports combined exercises and
on-site assessments in areas such as Multinational Information Sharing (MNIS).
JITC’s vision is to increase combat effectiveness through interoperability. Our mission is to serve the Warfighter by
assuring interoperability. To support these efforts, JITC developed a Combatant Commander and NATO Combined
Interoperability support program. This task is one of JWOD’s efforts to the overall program.
The current task performed under this effort is the Global Command and Control System-Korea (GCCS-K) migration to MNIS-K.
This migration for USPACOM and USFK personnel will provide:
-
Interoperability Assessments of rider systems
-
Information Assurance and DITSCAP support for the transition
-
Network optimization assistance
In addition to system testing, modeling and simulation will also play a part in this task. This will greatly assist in
the network optimization portion, but can also be used to ensure that information exchange requirements can be fully met
by the system.
The total timeline for this migration is through FY06. There are numerous systems that must be assessed to ensure a
seamless migration to the MNIS baseline, therefore this task is expected to last, at a minimum, throughout FY05.
