DMS Product Testing (DPT)

DSN: 354-2692, Comm: (301) 744-2692

Red Separation Bar

Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC) will perform DMS Product Testing (DPT) in the Integration and Test Lab at Manassas, VA. LMC will lead this phase of testing with support from the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). The DPT tests are used to verify that a product meets its detailed requirements. Software releases and documentation updates include new functions, Problem Trouble Report (PTR)/Test Incident Report (TIR) fixes, and commercial technology refreshes by the respective vendors. For each new release, new tests are developed to exercise the new functional content added to the products. Existing tests are used to regression test the existing functional test plan of the product.

Government Monitoring and Verification

During the DPT phase, JITC will monitor overall LMC product development and testing to ensure that deliveries to the government are sufficient to enter Government Developmental Testing. New functionality is referenced to an XREF number in the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) database. To provide an early look at product functionality, test procedures are selected from pre-existing test cases. The integrator will notify JITC if product functionality improvements correct any PTRs/TIRs and will provide supporting documentation. The PMO uses PTR/TIR/XREF status to gauge overall development schedule progress and to identify future test and implementation impacts. Government representatives have full access to LMC’s PTR database, RTM database, and the government’s TIR database. Government monitors review the status of all PTRs/TIRs on a weekly basis and provide information on each open PTR/TIR to LMC, the DMS PMO and JITC testers. The DMS PMO chairs a weekly test coordination meeting to discuss the status of each PTR/TIR. At each meeting, LMC gives a status on all Field Engineering Notices (FENs) and PTRs/TIRs, and JITC provides the status of government tests. This process continues until all high priority problems are resolved and the government accepts the products for Developmental Testing.
