Directory Updated and Service Center (DUSC) is currently installed at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station PAC (NCTAMS PAC), Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station LANT (NCTAMS LANT), and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station EURCENT (NCTAMS EURCENT). The DUSC/FBKS is resident on a Dell Server in a Windows NT environment.
The DUSC performs two distinct functions:
- Updating the Central Directory Component (CDC) via the Update Authority Component (UAC), and;
- Provides a means for Service Center operators to correct and resubmit messages rejected from the Message Conversion System (MCS).
NCTAMS PAC hosts the Master Update Authority and is designated as the Master DUSC (MDUSC). This is the single point for directory updates. NCTAMS LANT will provide a backup capability and is designated as the Alternate DUSC (ADUSC). These two sites are the only sites authorized to provide directory update information to the UAC and subsequently to the CDC.
The current Fleet Release of DUSC is 22.214.171.124. JITC Washington Operations Division conducted a lengthy Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of DUSC Release 1.2 from 1 June through 2 August 2004 to ensure software and hardware performed in accordance with requirements specifications and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Circular 370-D195-3. Implementation of DUSC 1.2 is currently in-progress.
