Operating Systems Supported	Proprietary hardware and software created and owned by F5 Networks, Inc. The hardware, the F5 BIG-IP platform, is a high performance multi-layer switch with hardware-based compression and SSL acceleration. The software, the Traffic Management Operating System (TMOS), is designed as default deny, has an application control plane architecture, which provides intelligent control over the acceleration, security, and availability services.
Associated Software	None, but as a full proxy, the F5's BIG-IP can be configured to receive traffic from virtually any type of client application and forward the traffic to the web/application servers, as configured.
Common Access Card Information	Tested. Works with DoD Common Access Cards.
Application Description	BIG-IP v11.0 is a layer 7 application switch capable of SSL offload and subsequent packet level content processing and direction. Uses include load balancing, intelligent switching, IDS, IPS, and Firewall traffic management, PKI integration. This description was provided by the vendor.
